Law Student Intern
Helena Rickards is a first year law student at Harvard University and graduated from the University of Calgary in 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (Hons., First Class). She recently completed her honours thesis examining the interactions between Canada’s Criminal Justice System and the Black community and how the system could be and is being reformed to address systemic inequalities and barriers.
She has worked with Donna Purcell, Q.C., over the past four years, assisting with cases, research, and drafting proposals to increase diversity and inclusivity in the legal field, beginning with our firms and courts here in Alberta.
In her spare time Helena enjoys taking dance classes, travelling, and spending time with family and friends.
