About Sonya
Sonya joins Donna Purcell QC Law as a Legal Innovation and Technology summer intern. She is going into her third year of law school at the University of Calgary with a previous degree in Sociology and Family Studies from the University of British Columbia.
Prior to joining our firm, Sonya spent over half a decade working in the insurance industry with a focus on the defence and litigation of personal injury files in relation to motor vehicle accidents. At the University of Calgary, she volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada during her previous academic term, which gave her great insight into conducting research and synthesizing information. Her legal interests include access to justice issues, civil litigation, insurance, and employment law.
In her spare time, Sonya enjoys getting away to the mountains, running along the river walk, and trying new brunch spots with friends.
